James L. Anderson is head of corporate communications and marketing for WarnerMedia. As a member of the senior leadership team, Anderson has executive oversight of internal and external communications strategies as it relates to corporate reputation, employee engagement, equity and inclusion and corporate social responsibility. Prior to his current role, he was senior vice president, communications for Cartoon Network – Adult Swim – Boomerang and TCM.

A veteran communications executive, Anderson is known for his experience positioning companies within their respective marketplace(s) and for also supervising the media campaigns of over fifty television series including: That β€˜70s Show, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Roseanne, A Different World, The Cosby Show, The Powerpuff Girls, The Boondocks, Adventure Time, Rick and Morty, and Steven Universe.

Prior to joining WarnerMedia (formerly Turner Broadcasting), Anderson was Sr. Vice President of Public Relations and Publicity for Carsey-Werner. He is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre at Denison University in Granville, Ohio where he is currently on the Board of Trustees. He’s a graduate of The John E. Anderson School of Management at UCLA in partnership with the NAMIC Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP); and serves on the Boards of the SIFMA Foundation (Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association), NAMIC (National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications) and the Tony winning Alliance Theatre in Atlanta.
